To me, a squad is just like a pair of boots:
The foundation is v impt
if u have a gd foundation, ur boots can shine and still maintain it
if the foundation is bad, ur boots can shine, but not for long
but then, is re-foundating a little late?
especially if u r alrdy a long way into it
of cos, it really begins with the beginning efforts, the efforts of the first times, the first half yr
but, of cos, the foundation can also be spoiled if future attempts at trying to 'polish' it is bad
this will cause cracks, bumps and whatsoever on the boots
can the 'boots' still be able to shine?
maybe just shining at a few parts
but then
no pair of 'boots' r perfect
they r leather boots, not glass boots
it is impossible for any pair to shine at all parts
but, can a bit of the effort used to polish the 'shiny' parts be used to polish the 'less shiny' parts?
or rather
issit possible for the shiny parts to 'help out' the less shiny parts?
this way, although the 'boots' might not be as shiny as other pairs of 'boots',
it can be more evenly shined
occasionally, there might be some 'conflicts' on the different parts of the boots, like the soles falling off, 'straying away' from the rest of the boots
but then, this would cause a problem in the boots, causing the whole pair to malfunction
therefore, every single part is impt in a diff way
when NCOs pass out, they will pass down these boots to future cadets, their juniors
then, it will be up to these juniors to maintain the foundation built by previous batches, or maybe even improve the foundation, making the quality of the boots even better
of cos, if not handled properly, these juniors might also spoil the foundation that was built from the hard work of the previous batches, thus wasting their efforts

Early morning chiong to New Town Sec
then at first thought we late, in the end the new town ppl even ltr than us
forgot to bring embroidered crest, damm pissed...nearly ended up in reserves cos of that, lucky my guests bring for me...
then on the bus, decided to be enthu and polish boots on the bus, and ms seow left her car at new town :O

Reach HTA that time go into LT1 to slack a while/polish boots/eat sandwiches =D
then we all go Unity Square to rehearse for the last time before the actual parade
quite screwed, but still ok...
amazing why some ASPs like to disguise themselves as SIs when they give themselves away by lecturing the CIs...

Mwahahahahahahah....
somehow Jiateck always ends up somewhere near me after every sizing command
but then the CIs took away my gd partner the ACS guy who is quite gd one lor
end up in reserves cos of one stupid Hentak Kaki
sad...

Then Mr Fiesta, as usual, shout here shout there, and then wear t shirt+shorts
a bit not suit lah...
but he damm high rank so no one dare tell him that also...

after that...
we had lunch, yay

and junchong commented that HTA finally served us proper food...

after that, we went back to LT1 to chg into our no1
and while Rafael sir was getting pinned up, we got our nice nice badges =D
but after parade must return D=

Finally, we were abt to get ready for the parade...
the day which we had waited and trained for 2-3 months for...
from supporting contingent 5, to when news of gold unit came, to GOH 1

well...
GOH experience did manage to improve our rifle drill by a lot and gave us a lot of confidence on volunteering, it also allowed us to actually see the bad parts and gd parts of our unit...

then of all times, some inspector from Canberra had to come and guai lan us
pulling the better corporals/sergeants out to let in the not so gd(or pure lousy) lance corporals from her own unit in
after that still go complain to other officers
if the parade was screwed, its her fault
and Jiateck actually volunteered out to let a lance corporal in...

parade went quitewell, except when Iswan sir shouted Baris Sedia after the National Anthem instead of Turun Senjata, then a lot of us did it, including me...
and first rank not v gd, ppl cant see u unless they sit at grand stand...
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

After the March Past, we marched all the way to the armoury straight (Bendemeer Rd!!!)
then hold a little celebration thr before keeping the rifles, i'll miss the M16 )=
then march back to drill shed and kena taken pics by guests like animals at the zoo
and we taupok Farith sir!!

Then we went to Harmony Hall to makan, but only a bit, cos a lot of time spent taking photos
After that we marched back to LT1, when most guests have left
Sad debrief, have to return the badges...

imagine if our unit officers did that...

sort of 'interacted' on the bus among NPDP ppl since its a rare chance, talking abt a topic that shld not be posted on a blog since its so sensitive and involves many ppl...

sian first rehearsal was like... make Farith sir damm emo and apparently some flag contingent CI cried.
but then, during the practice...someone suspiciously familiar appeared at the top...

apparently it wad last yr's fiesta guy that told us to wave our rifles and shout for finale
